Real Madrid are considering seeking financial compensation from Barcelona for damages caused within the scope of the “Negreira case”. According to Diario AS, representatives of the “royal club” have not yet disclosed an exact amount, but it is emphasized that the figure could run into millions of euros. Real Madrid’s management are unhappy that Barcelona made payments for several years to Jose Negreira, the former vice-president of the referees’ committee. In the “Los Blancos” view, this gave the Catalan giant a sporting advantage, and the club should be held accountable.
