Former Bayer striker Dmitry Bulykin commented on Xabi Alonso’s work as Real Madrid head coach. He shared his views in an interview with Euro-Football.Ru. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
According to Bulykin, Alonso’s future in Madrid primarily depends on results. He recalled Alonso’s time at Bayer, noting that the coach set records in the Bundesliga, led Leverkusen to the title, and therefore became a true national hero there.
At the same time, Bulykin stressed that different challenges await Alonso ahead: La Liga is a different environment, and most importantly, everything depends on how successfully he can work with star players. “The main thing is the result,” he said.
Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso are currently second in the La Liga standings. After 18 rounds, Los Blancos have 42 points, trailing leaders Barcelona by 4 points.
