Russia national team head coach Valery Karpin, reviewing the results of 2025, called it the most successful year since the team was barred from official competitions. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
Speaking to Match TV, the specialist noted that 2025 stood out in terms of match quality, the level of opponents, and the integration of new players.
Karpin added that 11 players made their debut for the Russia national team over the course of the year.
As a reminder, in 2025 the team used all five international windows and played a total of 10 matches. In those games, Karpin’s side lost only once — on November 15 in Sochi to Chile, 0–2.
Due to political reasons, the Russia national team has been unable to take part in official matches for nearly four years.
