Spanish Super Cup participants to receive record prize money

The Spanish Super Cup matches will be held in Saudi Arabia in January. Next Wednesday, Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao in the first semi-final, while on Thursday Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will battle for a place in the final. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the tournament’s total prize fund will reach a record €23 million. That is €3 million more than last year. The money will be distributed among the four participants based on results.

As a reminder, last season Barcelona, the Super Cup winner, earned nearly €9 million. The Catalans then defeated Real Madrid 5–2 in the final.
