Coach Valery Nepomnyashchy, known for his work with the Cameroon national team, spoke about his biggest hopes tied to 2026. He stressed that he dreams of the restrictions imposed on Russian football being lifted. This was reported by euro-football.ru.reports.

According to the specialist, he wants the isolation to end in 2026 and for teams to start proving themselves again on European stages. However, he added that such changes are unlikely to happen in the near future, Metaratings.ru quoted him as saying.

Russia’s national team, currently 33rd in the FIFA rankings, as well as the country’s clubs, have been unable to take part in international tournaments since 2022. During this period, they have mostly been limited to playing friendly matches against representatives of other countries.
