On Saturday, the Catalans beat Espanyol 2–0 and extended their lead over second-placed Real Madrid to seven points. However, the Royal Club still have a game in hand.
“Are we the favourites in La Liga? I’m not sure I can say that. There are still many matches ahead, but right now our situation is good. We’re ahead of Real, and our goal is to keep that gap and continue collecting points,” Fermin said in an interview after the Catalan derby.
On Sunday, Real Madrid will host Betis at home.
