Espanyol head coach Manolo Gonzalez refused to discuss Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia’s performance after the recent derby. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
The Blaugrana keeper became one of the match’s heroes and played a key role in helping his new team beat his former club 2–0.
“Understand me correctly, but I won’t talk about Joan Garcia. Whatever I say will be twisted. My pre-match comments were taken out of context and portrayed as if I was stirring up hostility in the derby. That’s why I prefer to stay silent now. Besides, last year I commented about 50 times on Garcia’s move to Barcelona. I think that’s enough,” Gonzalez said at a press conference.
Joan Garcia joined Barcelona from Espanyol in June 2025.
