Josep Guardiola will step down as Manchester City head coach after the current season ends. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .

According to Topskills Sport UK, the club and the Spanish specialist have reached a mutual agreement to end their cooperation at the end of the season. The leading candidate to replace him is Enzo Maresca, who was sacked by Chelsea on January 1.

The Italian coach knows Manchester City’s philosophy well: he previously worked with the Citizens’ youth team and later served as Guardiola’s assistant. It is said that the club has not yet begun official talks with Maresca, but he remains the main option as Guardiola’s potential successor.
