The 24-year-old footballer has not yet played for the national team. Nevertheless, some experts consider him the main candidate to become Spain’s first-choice goalkeeper — the “number one.” At a press conference, journalists asked Garcia whether he intends to play at the 2026 World Cup.
“That’s not my goal. My goal is to keep getting better in every match for Barcelona. Of course, everyone wants to play for the national team, and if that happens, I’ll be happy,” Garcia said.
It is worth recalling that Barcelona signed Joan from Espanyol before the start of the current season.
