The group stage of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, hosted by Saudi Arabia, continues to heat up. The Uzbekistan U-23 national team, participating in Group "B," started the first round with a victory, defeating Lebanon in a dramatic game with a score of 3:2. For fans, this became the classic scenario of "first doing the work, then testing the nerves."
The score was opened in the 24th minute: Amirbek Saidov completed the attack with confidence and put our team ahead. Even after the first goal, Uzbekistan didn't put pressure down - on the contrary, they increased the tempo and kept the game in their hands.
With the start of the second half, Ravshan Khayrullayev once again showed that the opponent's defense was "unlocked" - 2:0. Shortly after, in the 57th minute, Sardor Bahromov brought the score to 3:0 with a beautiful shot. By now, everyone might have thought "it's ready, it's easy today," but football never follows a script like a movie.
Lebanon also did not surrender. They revived the intrigue by responding with one goal through Shahin Leonardo Fara. The most interesting thing happened at the end: in stoppage time, the Lebanese scored again - 3:2. Fortunately, they didn't have enough time or opportunity for an answer.
Thus, Ravshan Haydarov's team became the leader of the tournament table in Group "B" with 3 points. In the second match of the group - the clash between South Korea and Iran, no goals were seen, the match ended with a score of 0:0. This result was even more advantageous for Uzbekistan: three points at the start significantly paved the way for the group.
Now the main task is simple: since we started the victory beautifully, we need to continue like this "like water." But the two goals in the final minutes pointed to this - there's no room for the thought that "the game is over" in defense. The competition has just begun, so there are still big exams ahead.
