Barcelona sporting director Deco commented on the imminent transfer of Al-Hilal defender Joao Cancelo to the Catalan club. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
According to Deco, almost every player who joins the club makes concessions on salary. He stressed that this is part of Barcelona’s unique appeal, and that Cancelo will bring new tactical solutions and options that the team previously lacked. Deco rated the Portuguese player as a top-level performer.
Earlier, club president Joan Laporta said that Cancelo will undergo a medical for Barcelona tomorrow.
Joao Cancelo also played for Barcelona in the 2023–2024 season, when he joined on loan from Manchester City. The Portuguese defender made 42 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.
