Manchester United have ended their cooperation with Ruben Amorim and launched the search for a new head coach. According to the club’s internal plan, an interim manager expected to work until the end of the season could be appointed next week, while a final decision on a permanent boss will be made in the summer. According to The Mirror, the Red Devils’ hierarchy do not intend to consult club legend Sir Alex Ferguson when selecting a candidate. The source notes that the owners do not want to rely on the legend’s opinion.
Ferguson stepped down from management in 2013; under him, Manchester United won the English league title 20 times. Since then, the Mancunians have not been able to reclaim the Premier League crown.
Earlier, the press also reported that Manchester United’s shortlist includes Carlo Ancelotti and two other coaches currently working with national teams.
