He said the Catalans are focused only on their own work and do not want to discuss what is happening at other clubs. Deco stressed that pressure is always high at Barcelona and Real, and when results don’t go well, coaches are the first to come under fire.
At the same time, Deco admitted Alonso’s departure was somewhat unexpected: in his view, too little time has passed, and Real are only four points behind in La Liga, while things in the Champions League are not bad. However, he noted he does not know the situation inside the club and therefore does not think it is right to judge from the outside.
Speaking about Flick, Deco also added that “feelings say more than numbers” and recalled that Barcelona had believed in advance that good times with Hans-Dieter Flick would definitely return.
