Bayern put on a show in Leipzig: 5-1 win (video)

In Matchday 18 of the German championship, Bundesliga leaders Bayern visited Leipzig and claimed a emphatic away win — 1:5. The game at Red Bull Arena looked intriguing early on, but after the break the Munich side stepped up the pace and decided the match in their favor.
The hosts struck first. In the 20th minute, Romulo fired home to put Leipzig ahead. However, the lead didn’t last long: Bayern returned for the second half at a completely different tempo.
In the 50th minute, Gnabry equalized, and from that moment Bayern kept increasing the pressure in attack. In the 67th minute, Kane made his mark — the English striker’s goal put Bayern in front. Then came a flood of goals: Tah scored in the 82nd, Pavlovich in the 86th, and Olise in the 88th to leave the hosts reeling. In the end, Leipzig’s only goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
After this convincing win, Bayern moved to 50 points and now lead second-placed Borussia Dortmund by 11. Leipzig remain 4th on 32 points — and with every point crucial in the race for European places, this defeat is naturally a painful one.
