The Uzbekistan U-23 national team may participate in the tournament in China

Chinese footballers are once again turning on a large-scale training regime: the Chinese Football Association is considering holding a four-team friendly tournament with the participation of U-23 national teams in Xi'an in March ahead of the 2026 Asian Games. This was reported on the ASEAN FOOTBALL page.
According to the source, Thailand has already received an invitation to this tournament, and the participation of the Vietnam U-23 national team is noted as "probable." Although the list of other teams has not yet been officially fully disclosed, the tournament is said to serve the purpose of increasing competition in youth football and "tuning" the squad before the Asian Games.
The most interesting thing is that Uzbekistan also closely "fits" for this tournament. The reason is that recently, football cooperation between the two countries has significantly intensified: training camps in the U-19, U-17, and U-16 age categories, friendly matches, and exchange of experience - everything is happening. Due to the strengthening of this "contact line," our fans are waiting for the team led by Ravshan Haydarov to join the small tournament in Xi'an.
Some think such competitions are "ordinary friendships," but in reality, they are a living laboratory for coaches: testing new schemes, making decisions under pressure, showing character at the end of the game. In short, checking the "paper plan" on the field before a big tournament.
If Uzbekistan U-23 also participates, it will be beneficial in several ways:
- Preparation for fast, physical football in the Asian style increases;
- there will be an opportunity to compete with competing schools on the same field;
- it will be a great platform for our youth to quickly integrate into the international rhythm.
The conclusion is simple: as March approaches, the intrigue surrounding the tournament in Xi'an will intensify. For fans, this means starting the spring with football. Honestly, there isn't much more pleasant "start" than this.
