Martinez suspended for three matches

The Football Association (FA) has rejected Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez's appeal against a red card. The Argentine player was sent off for pulling the hair of Leeds United forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin. It has now been officially confirmed that he will serve a three-match suspension. Goal.com reports this.
The disciplinary panel upheld the referee's decision, emphasizing that such behavior is completely unacceptable in professional football. Having already missed the match against Chelsea, Martinez will now be unavailable for the crucial upcoming fixtures against Brentford and Liverpool.

Interim head coach Michael Carrick did not hide his dissatisfaction with the verdict. While he described the referee's original decision as one of the worst he had ever seen, he stated that the club must abide by the final conclusion. According to Carrick, the team needs to accept the situation and move forward.
The crisis in the defensive line has intensified, as Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are also sidelined due to injuries. Only Harry Maguire, who has completed his own suspension, is expected to return to the squad. Martinez will not be eligible to play again until the match against Sunderland on May 9.
