Napoli decide to exclude Lukaku from the squad until the end of the season

Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku may be excluded from the squad for the remainder of the season following a conflict regarding his physical condition and injuries. After returning from international duty with the Belgium national team, the striker preferred to stay in his homeland for injury treatment instead of reporting to the club's training base. Goal.com reports this.
This decision has caused sharp dissatisfaction among the club's management.

According to La Repubblica, the relationship between the 32-year-old player and the club has reached a crisis point. Lukaku is expected to return to Italy on April 20, but he may not participate in team training sessions.
The club management stated they would take an uncompromising stance toward the player's unauthorized absence and that disciplinary measures would be implemented.

Sporting Director Giovanni Manna criticized the player's actions ahead of the match against Milan. According to him, Lukaku remained in Belgium contrary to the club's requirements.
Manna emphasized that the integrity of the group and mutual respect stand above any individual, and Lukaku's actions are considered a violation of the rules.
Coach Antonio Conte is dissatisfied with the situation of the striker, who was purchased from Chelsea for 30 million euros in August 2024. Having scored only one goal during the season and missing matches due to constant injuries, Lukaku is expected to leave the team in the summer.
Currently sitting in second place in the league table with 66 points, Napoli is focused on securing its spot in the UEFA Champions League.
