Real Madrid to take action against Valverde and Tchouameni following training ground altercation
Real Madrid has opened disciplinary proceedings against Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni following a serious altercation at the training ground. The clash during the session resulted in the Uruguayan midfielder suffering a head injury, requiring hospitalization, according to Goal.com reports.
According to the club's official statement, Valverde will undergo a recovery period of up to 14 days. The Real Madrid board considers this a gross violation of internal team rules and is considering suspending both players from training and pay for up to one month.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the players could face suspension and fines ranging from 10 to 30 days. The club views the situation as extremely serious and has appointed a special investigator to prepare a formal report based on witness testimonies.
This incident comes at a very inconvenient time for Real Madrid. The team is preparing for the upcoming El-Clásico against Barcelona without Valverde's services. The potential suspension of Tchouameni could also create a significant void in the team's midfield.
