Our National Team's Preparation Plan Ahead of the World Cup

The Uzbekistan national team is entering the decisive preparation stage ahead of a historic event — participation in the World Cup. The calendar of training camps and matches, eagerly awaited by fans, is aimed at ensuring our national team arrives at the tournament in peak condition.

From Tashkent to North America

The first part of the preparation begins in our capital. From May 5 to May 25 our players will hold training camps in Tashkent. During this process, the coaching staff plans to evaluate the players' condition through friendly matches against local clubs.

After the first stage of the camp concludes, on May 26 the delegation will depart from Tashkent to New York. Upon arriving overseas, our compatriots on May 27–29 will continue their training in this major American metropolis.

Friendly matches against world giants

To test the mental and physical state of our players before the World Cup, two serious control matches will be organized:

  • June 1: Match against the Canada national team. The match will take place at the magnificent Commonwealth stadium in Edmonton.

  • June 8: Fabio Cannavaro's charges will face the strong Netherlands national team at the Icahn Stadium in New York.

These games are a great opportunity for our team to acclimatize and gain experience against strong opponents.

World Cup destination and group stage calendar

After the control matches, on June 10 our national team will arrive in Atlanta and settle into the base that will serve as their headquarters during the World Cup.
