Franco Mastantuono could be left out of the Argentina squad

Real Madrid young star Franco Mastantuono is at risk of missing out on Argentina's final squad for the World Cup. Although the teenage forward arrived at the international training camp in excellent physical condition, head coach Lionel Scaloni is expected to leave him out for tactical reasons. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
According to AS, the 18-year-old player arrived at the Lionel Messi training complex in Buenos Aires after a 23-game debut season in Madrid. There are no concerns regarding his fitness, but his spot on the plane to the tournament is not yet guaranteed. If Mastantuono is cut from the list, it will be due to the coach's tactical plans rather than injury.
Speaking about his selection dilemmas, Lionel Scaloni noted that a final decision will be made in the coming days. The coach's main criteria are the players' current form and their adaptation to the team's style of play. Currently, Mastantuono is on the list of reserve options alongside players like Emi Buendia, Matias Soule, and Agustin Giay.
The fate of the young talents largely depends on the medical results of experienced players such as Nahuel Molina, Nico Gonzalez, and Gonzalo Montiel, who are currently injured. If one of these players is ruled out, a tactical opportunity may arise for Mastantuono.
The reigning world champions will begin their title defense in Group G with matches against Algeria, Austria, and Jordan. Before the tournament kicks off, Scaloni must finalize the team's physical readiness and announce the final squad list.
