Mikel Arteta: Arsenal has overcome its mental pressure

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta stated that after his team won the Premier League title, a huge mental burden was lifted from the players' shoulders. The Spanish manager emphasized that the long-awaited victory has given the team immense emotional energy ahead of the Champions League final. Now, the 'Gunners' will face Paris Saint-Germain in the decisive match in Budapest. This is reported by Goal.com .

In an interview with MARCA, Arteta said that the title, won after a 22-year drought, has completely changed the club's mentality. According to the coach, shedding the 'losers' label that had stuck due to previous failures has restored the team's self-confidence. "We now have a sense of joy and relief. We have shed that burden and are now focusing entirely on winning the Champions League," he added.

Arteta also touched upon the difficulties and self-doubts throughout the season. He admitted that at times he doubted his ability to lead the team, but emphasized that in the end, they overcame all obstacles together. For the coach, the most important thing was achieving results and building a winning spirit in the players.

Responding to recent criticism regarding the team's defensive style, Arteta noted the importance of tactical flexibility. He explained that during a crisis of serious injuries, he was forced to use different methods. "If you calculated our title chances considering our injuries, it would have been only 2 percent. I couldn't accept that and found other ways to win," said the Arsenal boss.
