Yamaha Tricity 300: the first airbag on a three-wheeled scooter (video)

Yamaha has presented its updated three-wheeled Tricity 300 scooter of the new generation. The new Tricity 300 is equipped for the first time in the segment with a special safety airbag, which takes the driver’s safety to a new level.
The new system is installed on the front panel and controlled by two G-sensors located in the central part of the body. These sensors detect sharp deceleration associated with a front impact of the scooter and activate the airbag.
Unlike traditional systems on motorcycles, the Tricity 300 uses a spherical-shaped airbag. It opens upwards, creating a barrier between the driver and the steering column, effectively absorbing kinetic energy.
The airbag operates only when a front collision occurs and at a certain deceleration level. If there is an impact from the rear or side, or in the case of a rollover, the system does not activate. This new technology has passed a full cycle of tests, including computer modeling and real crash tests.
In the UK market, the new Tricity 300 is priced at $11,770. At the same time, the scooter is designed taking into account not only safety but also comfort and modern design. Fans and drivers are eagerly following the new model, looking forward to testing its practical features and innovative capabilities.
