OpenAI Introduces Personal Finance Tools for ChatGPT

OpenAI has launched personal finance tools in beta for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the US. This new feature allows users to link their bank accounts to ChatGPT to analyze spending and ask questions about financial planning. The system integrates with over 12,000 financial institutions via Plaid, including Chase, American Express, and Robinhood. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

The new feature provides users with a custom dashboard displaying portfolio performance, subscriptions, and upcoming payments. OpenAI stated that it utilized the expertise of the Hiro startup team, acquired in April, to develop this product. Users can activate the system via the “Finances” section in the sidebar or by typing “@Finances, connect my accounts” in the chat.

According to the company, over 200 million users ask ChatGPT finance-related questions each month. The new GPT-5.5 model is more powerful in understanding context and logical reasoning, which increases the accuracy of financial advice. Future plans include deeper analysis of taxes and credit cards through a partnership with the Intuit platform.

To ensure privacy, users can disconnect their accounts at any time via “Settings > Apps > Finances”. Once disconnected, synchronized data is permanently deleted from the ChatGPT system within 30 days. Currently, this tool is only available to Pro users on the web and iOS devices.
