Airbus is testing the world's longest-range A350-1000ULR aircraft

A revolutionary change is taking place in the aviation world: Airbus has begun flight testing its newest and unique development — the ultra-long-range Airbus A350-1000ULR airliner. Project Sunrise: Record-breaking flights
According to ixbt.com, the airliner with tail number F-WULR currently undergoing testing has already covered more than 13,000 kilometers. The main feature of this model is the modifications to its fuel system. Engineers have installed an additional central fuel tank, which allows it to fly across half the planet without stopping.To cover such a vast distance, the aircraft's total weight and passenger capacity have been revised. The Airbus A350-1000ULR model is designed for only 238 passengers, which is significantly less than standard A350 models. However, this change serves to create maximum comfort and spaciousness for every passenger in the cabin.
Qantas has ordered 12 of these aircraft. According to the plan, the first serial airliner, named Vega, will be put into service in April 2027. Following this, the world's longest regular flights — Sydney-London and Sydney-New York — are expected to be launched.
