Gigabyte Denies Warranty for GeForce RTX 4090: Reasons Remain Unclear

Gigabyte Denies Warranty for GeForce RTX 4090: Reasons Remain Unclear

Another high-profile incident has occurred in the world of computer technology. Gigabyte has refused warranty repair for one of its most expensive products, the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. This situation raises serious doubts among users regarding the quality of the manufacturer's service. This is reported by Ixbt.com reporting .

According to a Reddit user with the handle Realcraser1, despite having an official warranty valid until 2027, the company refused to repair the device. The user stated that the graphics card worked flawlessly until the computer was relocated, after which the system would no longer turn on.

When the device was sent to the Gigabyte service center for diagnostics, specialists returned it with the conclusion that it was "damaged by the user and is beyond repair." According to ixbt.com, the manufacturer claimed the printed circuit board (PCB) was damaged, but provided no concrete evidence or photographs to support this claim.

Invisible defects and a questionable approach

Upon receiving the graphics card back, the owner found only two sticker indicators pointing to the alleged location of the defect. Interestingly, neither the user nor any independent observers could visually detect any cracks or external damage on the board.

Experts believe that if the damage is located in the internal layers of the multi-layer PCB, it might not be visible to the naked eye. However, a major brand like Gigabyte should have provided technical evidence in such cases, such as X-rays or microscopic images.

Currently, the graphics card owner is not giving up. They plan to send the device for an independent inspection to the Northwest Repair workshop or to the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel, which is famous for covering such controversies. Such incidents are bound to damage the brand's reputation and prompt high-end buyers to be more cautious.

Considering that flagship graphics cards like the NVIDIA RTX 4090 are sold at very high prices in the Uzbek market as well, the issue of an official warranty is critically important for local users. Manufacturers denying warranty service under such vague pretexts naturally causes concern among buyers of expensive hardware.

Gigabyte has not yet made a public statement regarding this specific incident. If an independent examination proves the user is right, the company may not only have to replace the graphics card but also face a major reputation crisis.
