On June 18, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the rapidly ongoing construction site of the “Tashkent-East” airport and became acquainted with its technical and infrastructural capabilities. This facility is becoming a promising air hub not only for the capital but also for New Tashkent and the entire Tashkent region.

The consistent growth of our country's economy, the increase in foreign investment and tourist flow require strengthening of the transport infrastructure. For this purpose, serious attention is being paid to the modernization of all types of transport in our country. Airports are considered strategic points in this process.

The “Tashkent-East” airport, currently being reconstructed, is one of such important projects. Here, a 4-kilometer-long runway has been renovated according to modern standards and is now capable of accommodating the heaviest and largest aircraft.

At the same time, two separate terminals, aprons, and closed hangars are being built for high-ranking guests and business aviation. Within the framework of the project, the airport will be equipped with modern radio and meteorological equipment of ICAO Category III-A, allowing for efficient operation even in adverse weather conditions.

Closed hangars being constructed for aircraft technical maintenance will ensure safe and stable storage conditions. These opportunities will not only enhance the national aviation potential but also encourage business tourism.

Due to its convenient location, the airport will be harmonized with the New Tashkent urban development project, making transport logistics even more efficient. In this way, the tourism and economic capabilities of the Tashkent region will be further expanded.

President Mirziyoyev gave specific instructions to accelerate construction work, create favorable conditions for foreign investors, and align terminal design and service quality with international standards.
