Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the small hydroelectric power plant built in "Hisorak"
Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the Hisorak small hydroelectric power station, built near the Hisorak reservoir in Shakhrisabz district. The presidential press service reported this.

The Hisorak reservoir was built in 1987 and underwent major reconstruction in 2004. The region also has the main Hisorak hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 45 MW, which was commissioned in 2011 and produces 80 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This, on average, covers the annual electricity needs of 33 thousand households.

The Hisorak small hydroelectric power plant in the Shakhrisabz district has an energy capacity of 3.5 MW, generating an average of 17.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. Its construction was carried out within the framework of full localization. The cost of the project is $ 1.5 million. As a result of the operation of the hydroelectric power plant, an average of 5 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved per year. The electricity generated here will be enough for 7,300 households.

The Head of State was informed about future plans to generate energy from river water. One of the most important projects is the plan to build 416 kinetic turbine micro-hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 12 MW within the next two years. These micro-hydroelectric power plants will allow for the efficient generation of energy from water flows in ditches and canals.

Currently, 3 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 49 MW are operating in the region. This figure is expected to increase significantly due to future projects. The goal is to cover 15 percent of the population's electricity consumption in the region through hydropower.
