Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid tribute to Heydar Aliyev and the heroes of Azerbaijan

On the second day of his state visit to Azerbaijan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Alley of Honor in Baku, where the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, is buried.

The President laid flowers at Heydar Aliyev’s grave and paid respects to the memory of the Azerbaijani statesman and political figure.

Heydar Aliyev was President of Azerbaijan from 1993 to 2003. He is the father of the current head of state. His contribution to state-building and the strengthening of national sovereignty occupies a special place in the history of Azerbaijan.

In Uzbekistan, Heydar Aliyev is respected as a statesman who attached great importance to the development and strengthening of friendly relations between fraternal countries.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the Victory Park in Baku.

The leader of Uzbekistan laid flowers at the monument dedicated to Victory Day and paid tribute to the memory of Azerbaijani patriots.
