The new academic year in Uzbekistan will begin on September 2

For millions of students across Uzbekistan, the long-awaited bells of the new 2025/2026 academic year are about to ring. According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, classes in all general education institutions of the republic will start on September 2 of this year, which falls on a Tuesday.

It is especially emphasized that the first hours of the new academic year will carry a symbolic meaning. In all schools, the first lesson will be held under the slogan “For the homeland, for the nation, for the people!” and these classes will be included in the program under the name “Hour of the Future.” According to officials, this initiative will serve to further strengthen in the minds of the younger generation national pride, patriotism, and spiritual values.

In addition, for more than 738 thousand children who will step into school for the first time this year, a joyful news has been prepared. By the initiative of the President, they will be ceremonially presented with the “President’s gift,” which includes 12 types of school supplies. For information, the start date of the new academic year differs for various levels of education. In particular, academic lyceum students and first-year students of higher educational institutions will begin classes on September 3, while senior students will start the academic year on September 8.
