Cases of illegal consumption of energy resources have increased

It was reported that during August, illegal use of energy resources in Uzbekistan caused a total of 86.5 billion soums in material damage to the system. This was announced by Uzenergoinspektsiya following its inspections. This figure clearly reflects the damage caused by violations and illegal connections in the energy system.

During the inspections, 179 cases of consumers illegally connecting to electricity and gas networks were discovered. As a result, 36.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 8.7 million cubic meters of gas were consumed illegally. These incidents seriously affected the stability of the system and caused significant damage to the cash flow of energy companies.

Additionally, 476 administrative cases were filed for violations. Measures stipulated by law are being taken against the offenders, and the relevant materials have been handed over to law enforcement agencies. These steps are being considered as necessary measures to prevent illegal consumption in the future and deter repeat offenses.

Experts note that similar cases were also observed in July. At that time, it was reported that the damage to the system amounted to 96 billion soums. In this regard, the importance of strengthening additional control and preventive measures to prevent illegal connections and ensure the efficient use of energy resources is being emphasized.
