A new decree on the effective use of land in agriculture has been adopted

The President signed a decree "On additional measures aimed at ensuring the continuity of the process of growing products on agricultural lands and increasing the efficiency of land resource use."

Several areas have been identified as the main objectives of this document. In particular, it is planned to improve the system of full accounting and efficient use of vacant land plots at the disposal of regional khokimiyats, as well as the re-lease of agricultural land.

According to the decree, tenants using agricultural land will now have the right to re-lease a certain part of their allocated land to another person.

At the same time, landowners and land users will have the opportunity to change the right of use and ownership of their land to the right of lease based on the decisions of district (city) councils of people's deputies.

According to the new rule, when the right of ownership and use of land is transferred to the right of lease, the term is set as follows:

  • for citizens of Uzbekistan and legal entities they founded - 30 years;

  • for enterprises with foreign investments - 25 years.

This decree is considered an important step towards more efficient use of land resources, establishing uninterrupted production in agriculture, and creating broad opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs.
