President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in New York City on September 20. There, the head of state will participate in the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly.
At the John F. Kennedy International Airport, the President was solemnly welcomed by the US Special Representative for Global Partnerships, Paolo Zampolli, the Chairperson of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, Carolyn Lamm, and other high-ranking officials.
As part of the visit, President Mirziyoyev will deliver a speech from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly. It is expected that he will speak about Uzbekistan's position in international politics, proposals and initiatives on current global issues.
In addition, the head of state will hold meetings with the leaders of a number of foreign countries, heads of international organizations and large financial institutions. During the negotiations, issues of strengthening political ties, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and implementing investment projects may be discussed.
Separate meetings and round tables with the heads of leading US corporations and companies will also take place. These meetings are expected to discuss economic reforms in Uzbekistan, favorable conditions created for foreign investors, and new joint projects.
The President's visit to New York is considered an important step towards the further development of international cooperation and the broader promotion of the country's interests on the global stage.
