At ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025, the creation of national data centers in the country was announced. In the near future, Uzbekistan will be provided with "cloud" services with modern and huge capacities located in the region.
It is noted that this project will allow the creation of a sovereign digital infrastructure that is not dependent on foreign servers. Local IT companies will have the opportunity to develop their products, including developments in the field of artificial intelligence and technology, using modern capacities in Uzbekistan.
The Saudi company DataVolt is responsible for the construction of data centers in Uzbekistan. It was previously announced that up to $6.5 billion would be invested for these purposes. DataVolt actively participates in the development of data centers around the world. As part of the Vision investment group worth over $100 billion, DataVolt is also participating in projects in the USA, India, and Saudi Arabia, including the NEOM utopian city project.
The project initiators emphasize: this opportunity will allow national companies to develop their products and projects without being dependent on external servers, using modern capacities in the territory of Uzbekistan. This can be especially effective for projects in the field of artificial intelligence and business.
