On October 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the head of United World Wrestling (UWW) Nenad Lalovich.
Issues of expanding practical cooperation with this authoritative global structure in the field of organizational and expert support and further popularization of martial arts in Uzbekistan were considered.
During the negotiations, the head of the UWW highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of mass sports, including the expansion of accessible and modern infrastructure, the wide involvement of young people in the sports movement through the regular holding of prestigious tournaments and competitions.
Issues of organizing major continental and world championships in Uzbekistan, establishing a Regional Kurash Academy under the auspices of the organization, and partnership in sports medicine, dietetics, psychology, and other priority areas were discussed.
The President emphasized the importance of popularizing martial arts among children and youth, introducing modern methods of selection and training of talents, and improving the infrastructure from clubs and halls in mahallas to sports mastery schools and specialized complexes.
At the end of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented Nenad Lalovich with the Order of Friendship for his great personal contribution to the development and support of mass sports and martial arts.
