Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a number of important meetings during her official visit to the United Kingdom. According to her, the visit aims to further strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Saida Mirziyoyeva participated in a roundtable discussion in London titled “New Uzbekistan — a country of great opportunities.” During the event, she spoke about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, improvements to the business climate, and the opportunities created for foreign investors.
— Uzbekistan has become an attractive destination for British business. Today, more than 270 British companies successfully operate in our country. I am pleased by the growing interest of our partners and confident that their participation in our economy will continue to expand, — said Mirziyoyeva.
During the event, she also met with representatives of Britain’s leading economic and financial institutions. The discussions covered ongoing developments within the “New Uzbekistan” strategy, particularly support for the private sector, creation of new jobs, and development of an innovative economy.
Additionally, Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting in London with Lucy Rigby, Economic Secretary to the Treasury of the United Kingdom. The two sides discussed financial cooperation between their countries, Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Britain’s support for this process.
— I thanked Ms. Rigby for participating in and supporting our event titled “New Uzbekistan – a country of great opportunities.” We held an open dialogue about the reforms in Uzbekistan and the process of joining the WTO. The full support of the British government is a vivid example of trust and friendship in our relations, — wrote Mirziyoyeva on her Telegram channel.
The meetings held within the framework of the visit are expected to mark a new stage in cooperation between the two nations. The combination of Britain’s investment potential and Uzbekistan’s vast opportunities will strengthen not only economic ties but also cultural and technological relations.
Saida Mirziyoyeva’s visit to London showcased Uzbekistan’s new image — as an open, modern, and partnership-ready country. These discussions once again confirmed that the idea of “New Uzbekistan” is being practically realized on the international stage.
