Low-income families will receive 1 million soums during the heating season

With the start of the heating season in Uzbekistan, the process of allocating material assistance in the amount of 1 million soums to families in need of social protection has been established.

In accordance with the presidential decree, this year more than 1.1 million families across the country are included in the support list. Of these, 822 thousand are registered in the social register, and more than 290 thousand families were additionally identified by the "Mahalla Seven."

Categories receiving additional assistance include:

• families who have lost their breadwinner - 33.8 thousand;
• members with disabilities - 76.3 thousand;
• living with a seriously ill organ - 23.7 thousand people;
• lonely elderly - 7 thousand;
• not connected to the gas network - 2 thousand;
• living in one household in three or more families - 26.2 thousand;
• 34.7 thousand - those whose breadwinners are in labor migration;
• temporarily unemployed - 15.1 thousand;
• families living only on pension - 69.7 thousand;
• lonely citizens - 2.3 thousand.

This initiative is aimed at protecting socially vulnerable segments of the population from financial difficulties during the heating season.
