The new toll road from Tashkent to the famous Charvak settlement is planned to be much shorter than expected - only 56 kilometers. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Jasurbek Choriyev.
According to him, the Charvak-Chimgan resort is an attractive area for tourists in all seasons. Therefore, the Ministry of Transport strives to create appropriate infrastructure so that visitors can reach their destination quickly, conveniently, and without unnecessary problems.
Especially during peak season, traffic jams on existing roads create inconvenience for people. Due to this need, a project for a new alternative road from Tashkent to Charvak is being developed.
Currently, approximately 5,000 vehicles are traveling on the remaining route per hour. In the high season, this indicator can reliably increase up to 10 times. Therefore, the draft of the toll road has been submitted for public discussion, and its concept is currently being developed.
The feasibility study for the project is expected to be ready by mid-2026. After that, the winning company will submit technical and financial proposals for the main construction work.
The new road will be 56 kilometers long - much shorter and more convenient than the existing 82 kilometers. The highway will be built with cement-concrete pavement, category 1A, and 6 rows. The maximum permissible speed on the highway is 150 km/h. The annual traffic flow is projected to reach 250,000 vehicles.
The total cost of the project is determined by the investor. In August, Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov announced that a decision had been made on the construction of this road, noting that the work would be carried out on the basis of public-private partnerships and without damaging the existing road.
The new high-speed route will not only shorten the route, but will also make the Charvak tourist area more accessible and convenient for residents and guests of the capital.
