In Syrdarya Region, a passenger car carrying four passengers fell into a canal. As a result of the crash, all passengers died at the scene, while the driver managed to get out of the sinking vehicle. This was reported by podrobno.uz.reports.
According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred on December 26 at 23:30 (Tashkent time). After a football match, the driver left the stadium to take four acquaintances home. On the way, he lost control and the car, with the passengers inside, slid into the canal.
Those killed were four young men aged 19–20; it was noted that all of them lived in the same area.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 266 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation rules resulting in deaths). Investigative actions are underway.
