During 2025, 248 citizens died in Uzbekistan as a result of accidents that occurred at workplaces. According to the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, a total of 849 work-related accidents were recorded across the country during the year.
Of these incidents, 50 occurred as group accidents, while 583 resulted in severe consequences. In addition, 216 cases ended in death. As a result of the accidents, 680 citizens sustained serious injuries and 33 citizens sustained minor injuries.
The highest number of accidents was recorded in the construction sector, with 234 cases. In addition, 47 accidents occurred in the light industry sector and 37 in the transport sector. Experts emphasize the need to pay special attention to labor safety in these sectors.
Legal measures were taken against responsible persons based on the identified cases. In particular, criminal cases were initiated against 432 officials, and administrative fines were imposed on 241 individuals. Officials note that ensuring safe working conditions at workplaces is of great importance for protecting human life and health.
