Risk of flash floods in Uzbekistan regions

Uzhydromet specialists have warned about the possibility of flash floods and mudslides in the foothill and mountainous regions of the republic due to precipitation expected on March 7, 9, and 10. The risk mainly concerns several districts of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions.
In particular, residents of these areas, citizens vacationing in the mountains, and drivers are urged to take precautions. There is a high probability of water accumulation and road flooding due to heavy rains. As a reminder, the precipitation observed on March 4 and 5 also caused water levels to rise in some streams and water to accumulate on roads. At that time, all adverse situations were promptly resolved by Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel.
Experts urge citizens traveling in mountainous areas to monitor weather forecasts and strictly follow safety rules. Residents living in areas prone to mudslides are advised to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of their homes and loved ones.
