Safety hazards detected in four types of Chinese toys sold in Uzbekistan

An unexpected danger has been identified in items intended for young children. Employees of the Tashkent City Department of the Inspectorate for Control in the Field of Technical Regulation conducted a control purchase of Chinese-made children's toys being sold in shops and retail outlets across the capital.

Laboratory conclusion: failure to meet standards

Sophisticated laboratory tests and analyses revealed that the popular "Police", "Rattle", and "Assault" toy weapons, as well as the "Darts" set, completely fail to meet established strict standards and technical regulation criteria.

Inspectorate specialists classified the identified risks as follows:

"Police" toy pistol — poses a risk of airway obstruction (choking) due to small parts or the risk of physical injury;

"Rattle" toy — the sound level emitted exceeds the norm, which can have a negative impact on the delicate hearing organs of infants;

"Assault" toy pistols — prone to creating unexpected hazardous situations for the health and safety of children;

"Darts" toy — contains sharp-edged parts, which poses a risk of skin lacerations or other types of injuries.

Due to the serious deficiencies identified, the import and distribution of these products in Uzbekistan have been officially banned. Currently, relevant warning letters have been sent to all trade organizations, and necessary measures are being implemented to remove the dangerous items from shelves and completely halt their sale.
