VAT exemption for livestock and fish products expanded in Uzbekistan

VAT exemptions for certain agricultural products have been further expanded in Uzbekistan. According to the updated list approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tax Committee, the number of agricultural products subject to a zero VAT rate has reached 518.

With the new decision, 14 additional types of products have been included in this list. Now, live fish, cattle and small livestock, including cows, bulls, sheep, goats, as well as horses, pigs, camels, donkeys, bee colonies, silkworms, and ferula seedlings and resins sold by producers are exempt from VAT, meaning a zero rate applies to them.

In addition, previously existing benefits have been maintained. Specifically, VAT exemptions continue for fruit and vegetable products, legumes, spices, meat, eggs, fish and seafood, dairy products, and various seedlings.

Experts believe that this decision will serve to keep food prices stable in the domestic market, reduce the tax burden on producers, and support livestock, fisheries, and other agricultural sectors.
