Starting June 1, a new convenience will be introduced for entrepreneurs in the catering sector in Uzbekistan. Now, cafes, restaurants, and other service facilities will have the opportunity to officially hire employees for short periods—even for just a day or a week.
This procedure is being implemented based on a decree signed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. According to it, employers can register certain categories of employees through a special mobile application of labor authorities in a simplified manner.
The main advantage of the new mechanism is that the process of hiring and paying the worker is formalized within one day. This creates significant relief, especially for businesses in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism sectors that have a high demand for seasonal or short-term labor.
Jahongir Abdiev noted that this procedure was developed based on current needs in the sector, as many entrepreneurs were facing excessive bureaucratic hurdles when hiring short-term staff.
It is reported that this initiative will serve to regulate common forms of seasonal and temporary employment in the labor market on a legal basis. Experts believe this innovation will open new doors for both entrepreneurs and citizens seeking temporary work.
