Greenall's lawyer noted that his client's actions, although there is no concrete evidence, were caused by his strong dependence on TikTok.

The company's management initially did not notice the decline in revenue for several years. Even after the first illegal transfer, Greenall promised to conduct an investigation instead of explaining to the management, but at the same time made the last transaction of $ 27,000. Later, he left the office due to the illness of a relative, and a week later he himself went to the police and confessed to the fraud.

As it turned out during the trial, Catherine Greenall's actions could have led to the complete bankruptcy of the company, which has been operating since 1995. If this had happened, more than 30 employees would have lost their jobs. The court noted that the defendant had no prior criminal record and had two minor children, but it was noted that the woman could face a prison sentence due to the magnitude of the damage caused to the company.
