President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the Bosphorus Diplomatic Forum and delivered a firm statement about global political processes. According to the head of state, some forces are interested in escalating the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while Türkiye has worked for peace even in such times.
According to Erdoğan, Türkiye has never chosen the path of alienation. – “When many states turned their backs on Syrian refugees, we welcomed them. We acted the same way in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. While the barons profiting from war poured oil on the fire, we worked for a just peace. We continue this path now as well, in Palestine, in the Gaza region,” said the Turkish leader.
At the same time, he did not specify exactly which states or structures he meant by “players” or “war barons.”
It should be recalled that in the summer of 2024, Erdoğan said that the actions of certain political circles in the West were increasing the risk of a Third World War. At that time, he stated that there are those who want to make big profits from arms sales, and that the main market for them is precisely the West.
On September 23, 2025, the Turkish leader once again stated that he “enthusiastically supports” peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
– “We adhere to the motto ‘there are no winners in war, and no losers in a just world.’ Therefore, we will continue to mobilize all our strength to stop the shootings and achieve peace in the future,” Erdoğan emphasized.
