David, a flower that smelled like spoiled meat, was kidnapped

The world's most stinking flower - Amorphophallus titanum, located in the famous Rombergpark botanical garden in Dortmund, Germany, has been kidnapped by unknown individuals. According to the park administration, the plant was dug up from the pot with its roots.

This unique flower was called "David" and weighed an average of 20-30 kilograms. Although the smell it emits during its flowering period is foul-smelling to humans and resembles spoiled meat, it is attractive to some insects. The flower blooms only every 3-7 years, and this state lasts only 2-3 days.

According to the data, thousands of people visited the botanical garden when the flower bloomed in 2018 and 2021. Currently, the park administration has contacted the police, and an investigation into this theft has begun.
