Ahmad al-Shar'a meets with Putin in Moscow

Ahmad al-Shar'a plans to travel to Moscow on January 28 to meet with Vladimir Putin. This was reported by a source on Syria TV.

The previous meeting between the leaders of Russia and Syria took place in mid-October 2025. In this conversation, the parties discussed the possibility of revising the agreements signed during the reign of former President Bashar al-Assad. During the negotiations, the issue of Russia's military bases in Syria was also raised.

During the negotiations, Ash-Shar'a also announced its intention to further strengthen historical ties and restore relations between Moscow and Damascus.
