A three-story building exploded in Karachi

A powerful gas explosion in a three-story residential building in Karachi, a major city in Pakistan, has led to a serious tragedy. At least 16 people died as a result of the incident. This was reported by the GZT.
It was reported that the explosion occurred on February 19 at approximately 4:15 AM on the first floor of a residential building. The injured and deceased were taken to the city's civilian hospital.
According to Jamshid Asher, a representative of the police leadership, the tragedy was caused by a malfunction in the gas system in the building.
According to preliminary data, there are women and children among the deceased. Another 14 citizens were hospitalized with various injuries, and the condition of some is assessed as serious.
Security services are investigating all cases of gas leakage to determine the causes of the explosion. The explosion also damaged nearby buildings and vehicles.
The Prime Minister of Sindh province, Murad Ali Shah, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and ordered a comprehensive investigation to investigate the exact causes of the tragedy.
The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the need to strengthen security control to prevent such tragedies in the future.
