A tragic incident in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, has claimed several lives. It has been reported that a total of six people died as a result of an avalanche that occurred in a mining area on April 28.
According to the “TASS” news agency, the incident took place in the Muyskiy District. Preliminary data suggests that the avalanche struck unexpectedly while nine workers were engaged in road clearing operations in the area.
As a result, six workers were trapped under the snow and died at the scene. Three others managed to survive despite the varying degrees of danger.
During search operations conducted by rescue services, the bodies of the deceased were recovered on April 29. According to information provided by Russian law enforcement agencies, one of the victims was a citizen of Kazakhstan, while the others were Russian citizens.
The identity of the deceased Kazakh citizen and other details have not yet been disclosed. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
