Sadir Japarov stated that the decision to authorize casino operations in Kyrgyzstan has fully justified itself today. This was reported by the "24.kg" publication.
The head of state recalled that the initiative to legalize casinos four years ago caused widespread discussion and debate in society. Nevertheless, the law was passed by the Jogorku Kenesh.
Japarov emphasized that today this sector is having a positive impact on the country's economy, and most importantly, the local population has not been harmed. According to him, casinos operate primarily at the expense of foreign and wealthy clients.
The President noted that previously expressed concerns—predictions that Kyrgyz citizens would begin frequenting casinos en masse—did not materialize. On the contrary, this system has created new jobs and developed the tourism sector.
He also mentioned as a positive development that citizens who previously worked abroad are now returning to their homeland to work in this industry.
According to Japarov, the most significant result is the influx of additional revenue into the state budget and the maintenance of economic balance.
